The sun is shining, so I have been getting all my 1960s and 1970s clothes out for those summer seasons. Here are a few of them, I love them all and its fun playing dress up for a while! Though I don't much like being in the photos! May have to bribe a few friends next time.....

Tea time!
With Spring fast approaching its time to break out those tea dresses. I love a tea dress, they are easy to wear and immediately give a vintage vibe. The tea dress is very versatile and can be worn with sandals or heels, day or night, rain or shine. Team with a waist belt for that 40s look.
There are all kinds of tea dress out there for the taking and I have collected a variety for your fancy.
Weather you like Aztec and Floral Prints in browns, blues and blacks, frill collars, shirt collars, with self belts, V necks, in cotton, polyester, viscose, nautical themed, fresh spring brights........the list goes on!

Milan and Paris Fashion Weeks; My Picks
Milan and Paris Fashion weeks never fail to bring us that sophisticated and classy look with some great tailoring. I have looked at the shows and picked out my favorite designers and looks that have occurred during these weeks. Have a read of my picks!
Milan to start with and the D&G collection.
There is definitely an 80s feel to the D&G collection with large letter prints in bright colours, cropped tops and jackets worn with leggings. The collection has got an air of Henry Holland to it with the letter prints and the slogan tees.
Outdoorsy country girl was making her way down the catwalk again at the Fendi show with gorgeous faux fur and wool coats in abundance along with a workman look. The ruffles are a cute detailing. Greens, mustard's, blues, browns, peach and black were the main colours shown in the collection.
Stepping back to a romantic, super glam 70s at Gucci. A super luxurious feel with rich deep colours in peacock blue, rust, burgundy, and petrol green. Fantastic wool flared trousers, platform boots and faux fur, this collection oozes sophistication and magnetism.
Marni was fab and fifties with the collection comprising of matching swing back jackets and fur trimmed gloved. Gorgeous subtle prints and thin waisted belts. A simple but elegant collection with vast desirability.
Now jetting over to Paris with the first stop at the Alexander McQueen show. A year after his death and Sarah Burton has brought us another amazing collection with all the element of the fashion house we love but with adding her own stamp. The brilliantly constructed garments are stunning. Knitted fur, raw edges, high collars and full skirts where the main shapes and textures in this armour like collection.
There was a 80s biker punk look with a feminine twist at the Balenciaga show. Black and brown with bright oranges, blues and greens. Lovely prints on floaty fabrics mixed with the harsh biker jackets gave an interesting look.
All things grey and charcoal at the Chanel show with volcanic undertones. Boilersuits, tweed with dense raw edges, leather, feathers and lace gave a the collection a great interest on texture.
The Christian Dior show was a beautiful collection as usual paying homage to the fashion houses heritage and history. The collection consisted of cloaks, floppy hats, pleated skirts, silk bloomers and bows in a rich palette of burgundy, green, brown and black. Gorgeous textures in fur and silk with ruffles, smocking, lace and embellishment.
The John Galliano show was held in a more intimate location due the present circumstances. The collection had a gorgeous forties silhouette with fitted jackets, draped skirts and Stephan Jones hats. Lace, fur and feathers added texture to this gorgeous collection.
Seventies again at the Paul & Joe show with stunning bright colours dominating the collection. The collection was made up jumpsuits, vivid prints, fur collared coats, wide leg culottes and tapered trousers. The overall look, to me, is 70s geek chic.
Last but not least we come to the Yves Saint Laurent show, which again showed tweeds with textures of fur and shiny fabrics with garments such as playsuits, jumpsuits and backless dresses. The colours are black, white and grey with flashes of colour. The collection is very clean cut with sharp edges contrasted by the fur.
So the shows from Milan and Paris brought us elements of the seventies along with outdoorsy country girl paying lots of attention to texture and embellishment. Fabrics such as lace, tweed and fur are in abundance. The shows did not fail to bring us the elegance and sophistication that we expect to see from these fashion weeks.
