MAXImise your Summer

With the 70s trend looming before us, the maxi, be it dress or skirt will be sought-after once again!
The maxi dress has been a popular choice for a few seasons now, but the maxi skirt only started to get our attention last year, but this season it is coming back with a vengeance!

The styles for the maxis this year is a mixture of floaty and/or pleated like these from Etro and Meadham Kirchhoff.

I also love the colours and prints of these dresses. Definitely an essence of 70s!

Yet, there are also some form-fitting maxis about the catwalks, such as these from Diane Von Furstenberg and Jil Sander.

Neon's and brights are key colours for the season and equally strips are everywhere!

Topshop have already got their beautiful flowing, pleated print skirts in!

2011 Here I Come!

Happy New Year to all!












Well, I don't know about all of you, but I am terribly excited about the year ahead!
The catwalk collections promise a revival of the 60s and 70s with gorgeous brights with the principle colours being blue and tangerine orange. We have a very 'bright' summer ahead!

The 60s is a prominent influence in the Christopher Kane collection, as you can see below with the silhouettes, colours and patterns.

The beautiful colour blue of Jason Wu's dress is a must have for the up and coming season. Blues are in all sorts of shades from teal to deep cobalt.

Wear your colours in block or mix it up like Gucci's collection. Looks great either way. Be brave! Don't shy away from colour, there will be no getting away from it!

But the biggest trend is definitely the 70s. Emilio Pucci collection pays homage to all things 70s with delicious prints, floaty fabrics and gorgeous silhouettes.

Its all very exciting. I have been collecting items that correspond to these trends and will have many more available soon!
